If you are traveling to Canada as a student then you have paid approximately 10000$ as GIC in your Canadian Bank Account. Most students have their GIC account in Scotia Bank. When you will reach Canada, of course, you will be quarantined for 14 days and in those 14 days, you are not allowed to go anywhere even in your bank. After completing 14 days of quarantine, you need to go to your respective nearby bank branch, and you have to activate your bank account. At the time when you go to a nearby bank branch, you require that application. So, it is better if you download it in advance and you can sign in later when your account gets active or when you are said to use it.
Mostly, in Canada, all services are run on a caseless model. So, sooner or later you need to have the respective bank account. You can download it from the play store.
Remitly
Remitly is a company or platform which provides international money transfer. You can transfer money from Canada to India or to other countries also, but you cannot transfer money from India to Canada.
